About Us
Our Mission
We are dedicated to supporting vulnerable individuals, ensuring safe housing for seniors and veterans, and educating the community about the opioid epidemic. We provide essential resources, workshops, and advocacy programs to create a positive impact in the lives of those we serve.
We are here to help those in need by providing safe housing for seniors and veterans and educating communities about the dangers of opioid abuse. Through resources, workshops, and support programs, we work to make a real difference.
Our goal is a world where no senior or veteran is homeless, and everyone is aware of the risks of fentanyl and opioid addiction.
The Founder's Story
Michelle Williams – Founder & President. Michelle Williams is the Founder and President of A Hand Up Resources & Community Outreach, an organization dedicated to strengthening communities through harm-reduction education, life-saving training, and youth empowerment initiatives. After losing her brother, Kevin Jemison, to the opioid crisis, Michelle turned personal loss into purpose by creating programs that equip individuals with the knowledge and tools to recognize risks, respond to emergencies, and support one another. Under Michelle’s leadership, the organization provides CPR and AED training, overdose awareness education, and community safety initiatives that prepare everyday people to respond when seconds matter. Her work focuses on empowering underserved and marginalized communities, including collaborative outreach with tribal communities, ensuring that life-saving education and resources reach those who often face the greatest barriers to support. Michelle is known for her community-driven approach and her belief that when people are given knowledge, purpose, and opportunity, they can become powerful agents of change. Through innovative partnerships with schools, local organizations, and businesses, she continues to expand programs that promote safety, resilience, and hope across the communities she serves.
Our Founder Michelle Williams’ reason why: her little brother Kevin Jemison.
